I’m no artist, but…

I’m no artist, but…sometimes I like to pretend! I threw a bridal shower for my best friend, Laura, this summer and we decided to have a craft be one of the activities. I bought ceramic tiles from Menards for $0.19 each and some Ceramic Paint Pens and each guest made a coaster for the Bride-to-Be. Cute, cute, cute!

I had purchased enough tiles for everyone to have two (in case of mistakes!) but no one needed their extras so I had lots left over–here’s what happened when I pretended to be an artist:

Put a few felt pads on the bottom and you have some one-of-a-kind coasters all ready to go!

Freezer Paper T-Shirts

This weekend I decided to try out the freezer paper stenciling that I’ve seen all over the blogosphere. I had found a great Harry Potter graphic and photoshopped it to work with my Silhouette SD to cut it out of photo paper.

Doesn’t he just make you happy?! He certainly made me happy. For the caption I decided on: I solemnly swear that I am up to no good, in this fantastic Harry Potter font found here.

Of course I decided on this craft at about 10pm so my mom and I headed to WalMart…can you believe it that they had NO women’s t-shirts? What?! I found a white generic one in the craft section, but I am underwhelmed with it’s quality. Oh well, this was sort of my trial run so a generic t-shirt will do.

It took some trial and error…I learned quickly that placing  the freezer paper letters is kind of tricky, but here is how she turned out:

I decided (at about 1:ooam) to add this to the back:

It turned out pretty well if I do say so myself 🙂 I’m going to send it to my friend Kara for her birthday…we’re pretty big Potter nerds, so I think she’ll appreciate it!
